As a former Pierce County High School graduate, I was very excited to get the opportunity to come back home and teach.  As Work-Based Learning coordinator, I supervise students that are allowed to leave campus and go to work. Work-Based learning provides students the opportunity to be enrolled in an internship, cooperative education or Youth Apprenticeship. Students may be employed or intern in many CTAE areas including medical, business, construction, technology, education, automotive, and childcare fields. I think this program is the perfect opportunity to bridge the gap between the schools and the community.

I attended Georgia Southern University and graduate with a degree in Business Education. I have taught Business Education for the last 5 years at Burke County High School. After having our daughter (Marlee Kate), my husband and I decided that we wanted to raise her in Pierce County. We were very fortunate and all the pieces fell into place. We couldn't be happier to be home.
